The University of Michigan Bioinformatics Program boasts a strong legacy, with numerous alumni excelling in academic and professional settings. Launched in 2000, the U-M Bioinformatics Graduate Program currently holds two NIH-sponsored Training Grants. This interdisciplinary initiative collaborates with multiple schools and departments throughout the university. Co-directed by Dr. Margit Burmeister, Professor of Psychiatry and Human Genetics, and Dr. Maureen Sartor, Associate Professor of Computational Medicine and Bioinformatics, the program provides comprehensive guidance. Applicants complete a bachelor’s degree from a U.S. college or university accredited by a regional accrediting association; or complete an international degree that is equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree from a college or university recognized and approved by the Ministry of Education or Commission responsible for higher education in the country where the degree is earned.
