Obtain a PhD in Bioengineering from Temple University and engage in groundbreaking research to become a recognized leader in the discipline. Gain the skills to discover novel findings, create innovative solutions, and advance the frontiers of bioengineering knowledge. This program focuses intensely on translational medicine, consistently working to move evidence-based discoveries through clinical trials and into practical medical applications when validated. You can investigate diverse research domains centered on progress in biological imaging, biomaterials and injury biomechanics, neuroengineering, stem cell and cancer engineering, biomaterial development, precision drug delivery, tissue regeneration, and other cutting-edge areas. PhD students have conducted research alongside partners at Temple's Fox Chase Cancer Center, Katz School of Medicine, Kornberg School of Dentistry, and College of Science and Technology. You'll benefit from modern laboratory resources and the close-knit support of a small engineering program with personalized attention. While most classes and laboratory sessions are daytime offerings, evening courses are available to fulfill the program's academic requirements.

Master's Degree in Discipline/Related Discipline: A master's degree is not required, but preferred.
Bachelor's Degree in Discipline/Related Discipline: A bachelor's degree is required.
University regulations stipulate that the applicant must have earned a 3.0 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale in her/his undergraduate studies
Statement of Goals: Describe your relevant technical experiences, career goals, and specific research interests in one to two pages.
Standardized Test Scores:
GRE: Required. Scores must be no more than 5 years in advance of the application date.
Applicants who earned their baccalaureate degree from an institution where the language of instruction was other than English, with the exception of those who subsequently earned a master's degree at a U.S. institution, must report scores for a standardized test of English that meet these minimums:
TOEFL iBT: 79
IELTS Academic: 6.5
550 on the paper-based (PBT)
Resume: Current resume required.
The minimum admissions standard for all graduate students is ordinarily an undergraduate grade point average of B or 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or the functional equivalent for students who have attended universities outside of the United States.
