As a student in Temple's Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, you'll acquire hands-on experience by providing direct patient care to diverse communities across multiple healthcare environments, building a solid groundwork for your nursing profession.
The nursing coursework evolves from introductory humanities and scientific principles to applying nursing theories and techniques in delivering increasingly sophisticated patient care. You'll develop skills to address healthcare needs throughout all life stages, employ critical clinical judgment, and work effectively within interdisciplinary medical teams.
Whether your goals involve working in intensive care, community health nursing, or other specialties, the Nursing BSN program prepares you to become a knowledgeable healthcare professional, a skilled and empathetic nursing leader, and a competent clinical practitioner. This major also establishes an excellent base for pursuing advanced nursing degrees, including Temple's Doctor of Nursing Practice program.
After finishing the program successfully, graduates qualify to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX). Passing this exam enables graduates to work as registered nurses in their examination state or transfer their license to practice elsewhere.
