Respiratory care specialists assist patients with various medical conditions such as asthma, pneumonia, emphysema, cystic fibrosis, lung cancer, and breathing difficulties stemming from injuries, strokes, heart attacks, or premature birth.
Through classroom instruction, lab work, and hands-on clinical training, students acquire essential healthcare expertise, patient care techniques, and critical thinking skills to address the respiratory needs of patients across all age groups. They learn to handle both sudden and long-term cardiopulmonary conditions, injuries, sub-acute illnesses, and community health concerns ranging from asthma to infectious diseases.
The Respiratory Care Program offers an accredited entry-level degree recognized by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) www.coarc.com and approved by the New York State Department of Education (NYSED), equipping graduates to sit for national certification exams administered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). The curriculum focuses on understanding, clinical competencies, analytical skills, and specialized medical knowledge, creating opportunities for diverse career advancement in the Respiratory Care field.
Undergraduate Applicants are required to submit the High School transcripts or its equivalent.

We have rolling admissions. This means that you can apply up until the beginning of the semester. As an international student it is important to apply as soon as possible so that you have plenty of time to get your visa.
