The Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science is a four-year undergraduate program providing comprehensive scientific training. You'll develop a holistic understanding of environmental challenges through coursework spanning biology, chemistry, economics, geography, geology, and mathematics. Alongside the degree, students can pursue an Environmental Professional Training Certificate by completing 12 credit hours. This interdisciplinary program integrates biological, informational, and physical sciences to examine environmental systems and develop science-based solutions. Environmental professionals employ both field studies and lab analysis to investigate the biological, chemical, and physical interactions between human society and natural systems. Your culminating senior project will involve researching contemporary environmental concerns and proposing solutions, reflecting actual professional practice. Temple University's College of Science and Technology offers this interdisciplinary BS program to explore human-environment relationships. Graduates completing the 123-credit curriculum gain qualifications for either graduate studies or careers in government agencies, nonprofits, or private sector organizations specializing in environmental assessment, conservation practices, water resource management, and land use analysis.
