Syracuse University's Master of Science (M.S.) program in speech-language pathology holds accreditation from the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology, part of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Graduates fulfill both ASHA's requirements for the Certificate of Clinical Competence and New York State's licensure standards through coursework and clinical practice. The master's program, combined with relevant undergraduate studies, qualifies graduates for New York State certification as Teachers of Students with Speech-Language Disabilities (TSSLD). Applicants with a bachelor's degree from any accredited U.S. institution (or international equivalent) may apply, regardless of whether their undergraduate studies focused on communication sciences.
