The Juris Doctor combined with either a Master of Science or Master of Arts in communications represents dual-degree programs offered collaboratively by the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and the College of Law. Enrolled students can simultaneously pursue their J.D. alongside an M.S. or M.A. (depending on their focus area) across multiple communications disciplines, completing both degrees more efficiently than if pursued separately.
These interdisciplinary communications degrees equip graduates for professional paths in media law, journalism, public affairs, and entertainment sectors. Participants can enroll in specialized tracks such as advertising, photojournalism, multimedia journalism, media analysis, public relations, or broadcast media production. The program length depends on the selected concentration and the student's academic background.
