The SUNY Stony Brook Graduate School's Population Health and Clinical Outcomes Research (PHCOR) program offers an interdisciplinary, hands-on curriculum designed to equip students with practical solutions for key challenges in the field. This selective graduate program prepares future leaders in population health research, clinical outcomes analysis, and academic practice, empowering them to make meaningful contributions at local, regional, and national levels. With growing demand for professionals skilled in population health and treatment effectiveness research—particularly highlighted by healthcare reforms focusing on population-level strategies for issues like obesity and evidence-based treatment comparisons—our graduates are poised to meet workforce needs across public, private, and academic settings. The PHCOR program distinguishes itself by integrating human subject research with optimal clinical practices and community-based interventions, advancing understanding in healthcare quality, safety, cost-effectiveness, access, responsibility, and fairness while fostering innovations in disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment approaches, and health outcomes prediction.
