We maintain that a solid foundation in research methodology is crucial for political science students focused on empirical studies. Our program offers comprehensive instruction in applying statistical techniques and formal modeling to political analysis. The methods curriculum begins with fundamental training in research design and basic statistics, progressing to advanced topics like statistical analysis, econometrics, time series evaluation, and measurement techniques. Understanding that many political science undergraduates enter graduate programs with limited statistical and mathematical preparation, our courses start with introductory concepts and gradually build the competencies needed for producing publishable political science research.
