The Master of Laws (LLM) in Corporate Governance & Practice delivers comprehensive academic and practical training in corporate law and governance. This focused curriculum aims to equip international business and transactional attorneys with extensive knowledge across key domains including accounting, bankruptcy, corporate law, finance, M&A, securities, taxation, and venture capital - skills they can implement upon returning to legal practice, typically in their home nations. Additionally, graduates may pursue admission to Stanford's JSD program (or similar doctoral programs) to conduct advanced research in these specialties. Accepted students will follow customized course plans, primarily selecting from the Law School's corporate and business-oriented offerings. This LLM program exclusively admits applicants who obtained their first law degree outside the U.S. and generally requires at least two years of professional legal experience prior to enrollment.
