Numerous graduate students enrolled in the Master's program in East Asian Studies aim for career paths beyond university teaching. Since expertise solely in East Asian Studies frequently doesn't meet the requirements for various non-academic fields, CEAS MA candidates might consider enhancing their degree. They can apply to multiple additional programs across campus, such as departments like East Asian Languages and Cultures, the Stanford Teacher Education Program within the School of Education, or the MBA Program at the Graduate School of Business, among others. Each program maintains distinct requirements that must be completed independently. Admission to any other program is completely separate from the East Asian Studies M.A. program, and being accepted into the CEAS M.A. program doesn't ensure admission to or confer any advantage in the application process for other programs.
