The International Comparative Education (ICE) program offers an interdisciplinary, globally-focused curriculum that examines educational issues through an international and comparative lens. Core coursework investigates connections between education and economic, political, and social progress across both industrialized and developing nations. This program establishes a robust theoretical and empirical foundation for analyzing education in our dynamic global environment and for comprehending effective policy development to enhance educational approaches across diverse societies. While emphasizing education in developing nations through its training and research initiatives, ICE also includes faculty conducting comparative studies of educational systems within OECD member states. The program places significant emphasis on the interplay between educational research, policymaking, and strategic planning. The ICE doctoral concentration aims to combine solid training in social or behavioral science theories and methodologies with the examination of education's impact on economic advancement, political evolution, and societal transformation.
