Graduate students are required to complete the two-quarter core colloquium in Jewish History. They must also participate in two research seminars, which can both focus on Jewish history or include one from their secondary field. A minimum of two graduate-level courses should be completed in the secondary field, ideally through a core colloquium. Typically, doctoral candidates spend between four to six years fulfilling Ph.D. requirements, though completion times may differ based on prior undergraduate training and the specific language/research demands of their chosen Major field.
