Our PhD program in economic analysis and policy equips students for careers in economic research. The curriculum provides intensive training with multiple unique benefits. Firstly, the program maintains limited enrollment, fostering strong faculty-student relationships and enabling early research involvement. Participants initially assist with faculty projects before progressing to independent research as their expertise grows. Many students publish academic work prior to graduation. Secondly, the flexible program structure allows students to collaborate with renowned faculty across Stanford GSB and the university. Beyond economics department professors, scholars can work with experts in political science, behavioral sciences, finance, mathematics, statistics, computer science, and various other fields.
