The undergraduate Sociology program aims to equip students with the analytical tools to examine and tackle societal issues and disparities across global, organizational, and personal social interactions. The curriculum's foundation lies in sociological theory and scientific inquiry. Students pursuing this major gain exposure to comprehensive sociological frameworks and research techniques for assessing human conduct and social structures. This discipline offers valuable preparation for careers in commerce, community services, policy development, public administration, international NGOs, philanthropic organizations, or academic pursuits.
A high school diploma or the equivalent is required in order to enroll at Stanford. Generally, we receive English proficiency exam results (TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo English Test, etc.) from applicants whose native language is not English and/or the primary language of instruction at their secondary school is not English.
