The East Asian Studies Bachelor of Arts with a China concentration enables students to specialize in Chinese language and culture while exploring broader East Asian topics. This China-focused track has replaced the former Chinese Studies BA program. Current Chinese Studies majors can either continue their existing curriculum or transition to the new East Asian Studies, China Subplan requirements. The Chinese undergraduate program aims to immerse students in diverse aspects of Chinese language, history, and culture through comprehensive instruction in writing, communication, literature, and civilization studies. Coursework prioritizes cultivating analytical skills and articulate expression that benefit students across all professional aspirations. Graduates gain preparation for various career paths in fields such as business, public service, and scholarly pursuits.
