The Chicana/o-Latina/o Studies program provides students with a chance to examine the culture, social structures, economic factors, and political dynamics of this significant and expanding demographic group. This interdisciplinary major concentrates on U.S. residents with roots in Mexico, Latin America, and/or South America. Those pursuing a major or minor in Chicana/o-Latina/o Studies can choose from humanities and social science courses, along with offerings from affiliated faculty in the School of Education. The program enables students to deeply investigate the cultural, societal, economic, and governmental aspects of this vital and growing population segment.
A high school diploma or the equivalent is required in order to enroll at Stanford. Generally, we receive English proficiency exam results (TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo English Test, etc.) from applicants whose native language is not English and/or the primary language of instruction at their secondary school is not English.
