The Associate of Applied Science in Vision Care Technology equips students with essential skills for a career in Ophthalmology. This medical specialty focuses on identifying and managing eye-related conditions and diseases. The program offers specialized technical education covering both Ophthalmology and Optometry practices. Students will develop competencies in areas such as taking patient histories, conducting vision evaluations, performing manifest refractions (using both plus and minus cylinder techniques), assessing color vision and ocular motility, evaluating visual fields, conducting A-Scans, capturing ophthalmic images, and acquiring surgical techniques.
