The MADI program is a two-year, intensive graduate course in Human-Centered Design that demonstrates how design thinking applies across disciplines, cultivates deep client understanding through empathy, and navigates complexity to develop impactful, evidence-based solutions. This unconventional program draws students from diverse backgrounds. We approach research through design methods and design through investigative research. Our mission is to create dynamic learning spaces where students develop skills through hands-on experience and cultivate a proactive approach. The program emphasizes intensive project work and collaboration, with students tackling real-world challenges for various clients each semester. MADI brings together both experienced designers and beginners seeking to expand their abilities and adopt innovative mindsets. No prior design education is necessary - we welcome all applicants with enthusiasm for learning how design can drive meaningful transformation.
