The Plant Biology Program provides a comprehensive graduate curriculum culminating in Master of Science, Master of Science in Biological Sciences, Master of Science in Education in Biological Sciences, and Doctor of Philosophy degrees. The program awarded its inaugural Master's degree in 1948 and its first Ph.D. in 1965. Throughout its history, the department has covered all facets of plant biology, with evolving focus areas reflecting both scientific trends and faculty changes. Current research priorities align with the department's diverse faculty expertise and collaborative initiatives with other departments. Both Master's and Doctoral programs integrate coursework, teaching experience, and research components. Students work closely with their advisory committees to create customized academic plans tailored to their professional objectives and educational needs.
