This pathway fulfills the requirements for Associate of Science Track 2 in Civil and Mechanical Engineering MRP. This pre-major program prepares students to transfer as juniors into related engineering programs at four-year institutions.

Mechanical engineering focuses on maintaining, analyzing, designing, and manufacturing mechanical systems. Projects can range from designing microscopic machine components to managing large-scale industrial equipment. Mechanical engineers develop expertise in material science, understanding chemical and mechanical properties of materials and their interactions. Industrial engineering specializes in optimizing processes to enhance safety and efficiency while minimizing material and energy waste. Industrial engineers work to lower production costs, assess lifecycle expenses and sustainability, boost efficiency, improve product and service quality, ensure worker safety, protect the environment, and maintain regulatory compliance.
