This program fulfills the requirements for an Associate in Arts degree with a focus on Nutrition Science. Nutrition science explores how nutrients and food components affect growth, metabolism, health, and disease, while also examining human behavior related to dietary decisions. As an interdisciplinary field, it integrates chemistry, biology, physiology, and public health. Professionals in this field conduct research to advance nutritional knowledge, enhancing both clinical care and community health initiatives. Graduates will be qualified for entry-level roles in conventional healthcare environments like hospitals, clinics, and public health departments, as well as in wellness-focused businesses. Additionally, this degree provides a foundation for transferring to a four-year institution to pursue studies in food science, nutrition science, or similar disciplines. If you're enthusiastic about promoting health and well-being, pursuing a nutrition science degree could be an excellent choice for your career path.
