The MSCE program provides courses, design projects, and research opportunities in Civil and Environmental Engineering, covering structural systems, transportation networks, geotechnical studies, water resources management, hydrological processes, hydraulic systems, environmental solutions, and engineering mechanics. Students can earn an MS degree through thesis research, design projects, or coursework-only pathways.
Program Learning Outcomes
The Civil Engineering program at South Dakota State University dedicates itself to equipping students with the skills to accomplish these educational goals within five years of completing their bachelor's degree.
Alumni will have acquired professional licensure or specialized credentials.
Alumni will pursue continuous professional growth through advanced degrees, professional development courses, or active involvement in engineering societies.
Student must have a bachelor's degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0 to receive unconditional admission.
A minimum TOEFL score of 525 paper-based, 197 computer-based, or 71 Internet based, or IELTS score of 5.5.
