The Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Care program offers graduates from Associate's degree Respiratory Care programs and licensed Respiratory Care Practitioners (RCPs) an opportunity to earn their four-year degree without transferring to a traditional university. This curriculum delivers advanced practice training, focusing on complex cardiopulmonary conditions, comprehensive respiratory case studies, specialized neonatal/pediatric care, respiratory health education, research techniques, quantitative analysis, sleep medicine, and leadership in respiratory care management. Today's Respiratory Care Practitioners often perform duties previously handled by physicians, demanding enhanced critical thinking and analytical abilities.
The program requires completion of 128-130 semester units, incorporating both upper and lower division general education courses that meet California State University General Education (CSU-GE) Breadth standards, along with 79 major-specific units in Respiratory Care.
