The University of South Alabama's Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program equips students with essential skills for a fulfilling healthcare career. Upon graduation, students qualify to take the National Council Licensure Examination and pursue Registered Nurse licensure, while also being well-prepared for advanced graduate studies. This pre-licensure BSN program fulfills all state requirements for RN licensure after passing the NCLEX-RN examination. The nursing curriculum builds upon each student's prior education, typically dedicating the initial two years to university core requirements in sciences, mathematics, arts, and humanities, followed by two years of specialized nursing training. The College of Nursing provides an accelerated option for degree holders in other disciplines, plus an RN-to-BSN track for licensed nurses with associate degrees or diplomas.
