This major offers two transfer options based on your individual preferences:
A) Earn an Associate in Applied Arts & Sciences (AAAS) in Health Informatics and Information Management at Shoreline. This pathway enables immediate employment in the field while allowing you to pursue a Bachelor's degree concurrently.
B) Complete a general Associate of Arts - Direct Transfer Agreement (AA-DTA) first, then specialize in Health Informatics at a four-year university.
To prepare for a Health Informatics and Information Management major, take suggested courses that satisfy transfer degree requirements. This field focuses on gathering, structuring, accessing, and maintaining healthcare data and records. Professionals utilize digital systems to supply healthcare providers, researchers, organizations, and insurers with critical information for patient treatment, disease prevention, resource distribution, and scientific studies. Shoreline's General Transfer program includes the Associate in Arts - Direct Transfer Agreement (AA-DTA), which fulfills the initial two years of most bachelor's degree programs.
