The FSU School of Information's Health IT Certificate program equips students to become pioneers in healthcare technology by enhancing expertise in data management, tech implementation, information systems, and leadership. As healthcare and technology increasingly merge, professionals who can effectively leverage clinical and public health data are in high demand.

Fundamentally, managing information - from collection to application - is key to improving care quality, lowering expenses, and expanding accessibility. This certificate cultivates technical, managerial, and analytical competencies for professional advancement. Participants will obtain comprehensive health informatics training, serving as both an industry introduction and a foundation for adopting new technologies. The curriculum covers sector-wide knowledge, contemporary challenges, and developments like electronic health records optimization and digital health strategies for wellness initiatives and patient empowerment.

Qualification Requirements

An applicant who desires admission as a first year in college student must be graduated from a regionally accredited high school (or comparable international institution). All transcripts/academic records that are not in English must be accompanied by certified English translations. If the transcript/academic record does not indicate the degree earned and date the degree was awarded, separate proof of degree is required. We require freshman applicants to submit at least one ACT and/or SAT test score to be considered for admission. Florida State does not require the optional ACT writing score or the optional SAT essay. We encourage applicants to take both the ACT and SAT, and to attempt each exam more than one time to earn the highest possible score.
