The field of Computer Science has expanded significantly in recent years, touching nearly every aspect of our daily routines. We interact with numerous computing devices daily, from ATM machines and smart point-of-sale systems to vehicle fuel management technologies.
The Computer Science Department educates students in creating and developing the intelligent software that powers these systems. Santa Barbara City College offers a comprehensive Computer Science curriculum, covering fundamental to advanced concepts. This program aims to deliver broad educational foundations, transfer opportunities, and career-focused instruction.
Graduates of high schools or equivalent are eligible for admission, with the equivalent of a GPA of 2.0 or better.
Students must be 18 years or older by the start of the semester without restrictions.
