The Associate in Arts in American Sign Language program (A.A. in ASL) equips students with fundamental ASL skills, preparing them to transfer to four-year institutions with bachelor's degree programs.
Develop proficiency in both expressive and receptive ASL communication.
Master visual-gestural communication and finger-spelling techniques.
Understand the requirements for maintaining ASL as the primary visual language of the Deaf community.
Acquire knowledge about Deaf culture and its traditions.
Exhibit proper sociolinguistic conduct as skilled American Sign Language communicators.
Graduates of high schools or equivalent are eligible for admission, with the equivalent of a GPA of 2.0 or better.
Students must be 18 years or older by the start of the semester without restrictions.
