Qualification Requirements

The MatE MS Program considers students who have a MatE/MatSci BS degree or closely related engineering or science ((e.g. physics, mechanical engineering) BS degree with a GPA of 2.7 or above in the major courses. Students with a US MatE/MatSci BS degree are admitted to classified standing if they have a GPA in the major of 3.0, or better or they are admitted to conditionally classified standing if they have a GPA in the major between 2.7 and 2.99. Students who meet the GPA requirement and have a BS degree in a closely-related engineering or science discipline (e.g. physics, chemistry, mechanical engineering) and/or who have a non-US MatE degree are admitted in conditionally classified standing.
