The Master of Arts in Special Education is a 30-credit program administered by the Department of Special Education, designed to cultivate educators capable of transforming learning environments. This program equips graduates with comprehensive expertise to address diverse learner needs across various identities (including disability, race, gender, language, and ethnicity), while fostering inclusive educational spaces. Participants serve as advocates for equity, working to redesign accessible education systems. The curriculum includes an action research project conducted in field settings, and offers the option to pursue an Education Specialist credential alongside the degree.
Students must have Bachelors Degree or equivalent and a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better;
Passing score on the Department of Special Education writing assessment or GRE Analytical Writing (passing score of 4.0 score or better);
English Language Proficiency: IELTS: 6.5; TOEFL – 80 (IBT), paper based – 550, Computer based – 213; Pearson Test of English (PTE) – 53.
