The Spatial Art program spans multiple disciplines, incorporating diverse mediums such as Ceramics, Glass, Installation Art, Metalwork and Casting, Digital Fabrication, Multimedia, Performance Art, and Sculpture. It offers outstanding facilities and tools for students aiming to bring large-scale three-dimensional concepts to life.
Installation art is a common focus among Spatial Art students. The Art building features six differently sized galleries available for weekly project use, along with two repurposed shipping containers serving as outdoor exhibition spaces for week-long installations. University and School-provided digital and video equipment is accessible for installation projects. During their BFA showcase (the final exhibition), students are urged to utilize and integrate all available resources beyond the foundational skills gained in studio classes. As their creative vision and fabrication abilities develop, students often find each new idea requires exploring fresh techniques and materials. The Department of Art and Art History offers robust technical guidance and critical feedback through its faculty and labs.
