BGSU's Bachelor of Fine Arts and Bachelor of Arts programs in Studio Art equip students with comprehensive skills across all artistic media.
As contemporary art continues to dissolve conventional medium boundaries, the Studio Art Division provides foundational training in both two- and three-dimensional disciplines, empowering students to develop their unique artistic perspectives. These degree programs establish strong technical proficiency in all artistic mediums.
Students gain expertise through specialized studio practice in various disciplines including ceramics, drawing & painting, glasswork, jewelry & metalsmithing, photography, printmaking, or sculpture.
Building on this flexible foundation, the curriculum promotes creative exploration and bold experimentation. Learners can tailor their education by selecting intermediate and advanced courses that align with their personal artistic goals.
Modern printmaking has transformed into a cross-disciplinary practice, merging conventional and innovative techniques that connect printing with other art forms like painting, textiles, ceramics, and digital media. With growing emphasis on eco-friendly materials, digital technology, and photographic methods, printmaking continues to be a dynamic and evolving artistic field.
Bowling Green State University's Printmaking program exposes students to diverse techniques while emphasizing critical analysis and personal artistic development. The curriculum covers Relief and Monoprint techniques, Intaglio, Lithography, and Screenprinting, incorporating both traditional and modern approaches. A summer Book Arts workshop further enhances the standard course offerings. Advanced students and graduates may choose traditional print production or explore mixed-media approaches that integrate printmaking with other artistic disciplines.
