In the Acting for Film Concentration, students gain self-assurance in their acting abilities while acquiring fresh methods to deliver authentic on-camera performances. The program begins with an exploration of core acting principles through hands-on practice. By analyzing classical scenes and mastering acting techniques, participants establish a solid base of performance abilities while taking script analysis and film studies courses. The curriculum also covers diverse vocal and physical techniques, along with insights into the professional aspects of acting.
Participants must complete several requirements, including delivering a live monologue, filming scenes for in-class evaluation, and joining a Film Craft production. The program concludes with various public exhibitions of student projects, such as an improvised live performance, a Meisner technique demonstration, a Scene Study showcase, and/or a screening of student films, plus one special honors presentation.
