San Jose State University's Digital Media Art (DMA) program delivers an interdisciplinary education focused on digital creativity and design, covering computer graphics, web development, coding, physical computing, fabrication, prototyping, interactive media, and game design. Situated in Silicon Valley's innovation hub, the DMA program fosters cutting-edge technological exploration where artistic expression meets scientific inquiry.
The BFA in Digital Media Art cultivates technical abilities, creative vision, and analytical thinking to prepare students as digital pioneers and solution creators. Graduates gain practical expertise in visual design, software development, motion graphics, user experience design, and game creation through diverse methodologies and emerging technologies. Our project-based approach emphasizes collaborative, studio-style learning that mirrors professional creative environments.
Students must Earn a high school diploma, or equivalent and earn the equivalent of a U.S. 3.0 grade point average (GPA) or an average of “B” grades. Successfully complete three years of college preparatory mathematics with a minimum grade of “C-” or better.
English Language Requirements: IELTS - 6.0, TOEFL – 61 (IBT), Paper based – 500; Pearson Test of English (PTE) – 44.
