The Graphic Design BFA program tackles challenges where classic craftsmanship meets fast-changing digital communication, equipping students to drive meaningful impact in today's social and cultural landscapes. This program provides students with essential tools to transform how we engage with our surroundings—whether through printed materials or digital platforms, professional assignments or creative explorations, online spaces or real-world settings. The 122-credit graphic design curriculum readies students for careers in visual communication, covering core principles (typography and visual creation), design evolution and current trends, investigative approaches, user-focused design, and ethical considerations. Learners tackle intricate design challenges while discovering areas where creative solutions can make a difference. Furthermore, students can pursue individual passions through diverse electives across the School of Art and Design, spanning photography, film, conventional print techniques, eco-conscious design, cutting-edge interactive media, and contributions to Ninth Letter—a celebrated, nationally-recognized art and literature publication.
