The BASW program, delivered through the School of Social Work and accredited by the Council on Social Work Education since 1976, trains generalist social workers by combining liberal arts education with a transcultural approach. Students learn to work with individuals, families, and groups across various organizational and community settings. Through coursework and field experiences, the program helps students build: 1) knowledge of social systems and relationship problem-solving techniques, 2) abilities to combine knowledge, critical thinking, and empathy into effective practice, and 3) professional values that include self-awareness for responsible use of personal skills in helping professions.
Students must Earn a high school diploma, or equivalent and earn the equivalent of a U.S. 3.0 grade point average (GPA) or an average of “B” grades. Successfully complete three years of college preparatory mathematics with a minimum grade of “C-” or better.
English Language Requirements: IELTS - 6.0, TOEFL – 61 (IBT), Paper based – 500; Pearson Test of English (PTE) – 44.
