The Interdisciplinary Marine and Estuarine Sciences (IMES) Master of Science (MS) program is a cross-disciplinary graduate offering from San Francisco State University's College of Science and Engineering, headquartered at the Romberg Tiburon Campus' Estuary & Ocean Science Center. This unique program builds upon the National Science Foundation Research Traineeship (NRT) initiative called Research Intensive Pedagogical Training of Interdisciplinary Estuarine Scientists (RIPTIDES), marking the first NRT grant awarded exclusively to a dedicated Master's-level training initiative. The program features faculty advisors spanning multiple academic units such as Biology, Chemistry and Biochemistry, Physics, Geography & Environment, Earth & Climate Sciences, Public Administration, and the College of Ethnic Studies.
