The Master of Music program offers advanced training for exceptional performers, focusing on honing specialized abilities in each student's proven area of expertise. Participants can concentrate on classical solo performance, ensemble work, or conducting. This degree is ideal for those pursuing professional performance or conducting careers, teaching at collegiate levels or private studios, or continuing to doctoral performance studies. The program concludes with a formal graduate recital presentation.
Every candidate must fulfill a nine-unit core curriculum and complete their chosen specialization. Graduate students taking applied lessons (for orchestral instruments and voice) must participate in a major conducted classical ensemble related to their field. Students must maintain enrollment through their final semester to graduate.
