The Department of Broadcast and Electronic Communication Arts (BECA) provides degree programs for both undergraduate and graduate students, including a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in Broadcast and Electronic Communication Arts. The program's structure aims to deliver comprehensive training for individuals seeking to utilize contemporary electronic media platforms to address society's artistic, cultural, educational, and informational requirements. Combining theoretical knowledge with hands-on application, students must demonstrate proficiency in both academic and practical coursework. The undergraduate curriculum features foundational courses covering electronic media history, media aesthetics, research methodologies, audio/video production, media law and ethics, communication theories, and writing/performing for electronic platforms. BECA equips students with the skills to both produce and analyze media content critically, offering a balanced approach that merges conceptual understanding with technical expertise to help students harness media tools for impactful societal communication.

You are considered a freshman applicant if you will have a high school diploma or GED and have not enrolled at any college or university beyond the summer immediately following your high school graduation.
