The School's Sculpture program equips students with professional artistic training and prepares them for advanced graduate studies. This curriculum aims to cultivate students' perceptual awareness, aesthetic discernment, creative problem-solving abilities, and technical proficiency for artistic expression. The program focuses on developing artists specializing in three-dimensional forms and sensory movement.
Our sculpture department fosters an environment where students investigate sculptural concepts through research, processes, and materials, treating art creation as both personal expression and disciplined communication. Undergraduate students study historical and contemporary art precedents while developing independent thinking to comprehend diverse sculptural approaches. As they advance, we encourage increasingly self-driven artistic practice. Our definition of sculpture embraces both traditional mediums and innovative conceptual work in new media, installations, and performances. The program emphasizes experimental freedom while promoting interdisciplinary and collaborative approaches.
