Saint Louis University offers a combined Master of Public Health and Medical Doctor degree program through collaboration between the College for Public Health and Social Justice and the School of Medicine. This accelerated MPH program can be finished in three back-to-back semesters (summer, fall, spring) dedicated solely to MPH classes. Participants must meet both medical school requirements and complete a full MPH with a public health practice focus (42 credits total), allowing up to six credits from MD coursework to count toward the MPH. Medical students can apply for the MD/MPH program during their initial two years of study. After finishing the first three years of medical training, including clinical rotations and USMLE Steps 1 and 2, students devote one year to public health education before returning to complete their final year of medical school.
