SVSU's nationally accredited Electrical Engineering (EE) program, spanning four years, has built a distinguished reputation for producing graduates who are qualified, motivated, and thoroughly prepared for the workforce or advanced studies at leading graduate institutions. Students engage with a demanding curriculum that establishes a solid grounding in related sciences, exploring fields like digital controls, power systems, electronics, and robotics. They also cultivate communication and leadership abilities, along with cultural, social, and global awareness. Beyond laboratory sessions and practical projects, students undertake a capstone project that integrates their comprehensive electrical engineering knowledge and hands-on experience. If you enjoy tackling challenges, enhancing current systems, and innovating new solutions, the SVSU Electrical Engineering program could be your ideal fit.
The core Electrical Engineering curriculum equips you with fundamental knowledge in electronic circuits (both analog and digital), electrical machinery, electromagnetic fields, microprocessors, control systems (analog and digital), computing, power systems, digital signal processing, communications, and mechanical engineering. You will refine your EE specialization by choosing up to four advanced technical elective courses. The EE program is recognized for its hands-on laboratory and design components, which are woven into the entire curriculum and culminate in a significant design endeavor. Students will execute a capstone design project that encompasses the full design lifecycle, from planning and feasibility analysis to technical report writing, prototype building, and project documentation.
An international first-year student is not a U.S. citizen or permanent resident; has never enrolled in a college or university.
