The electrical engineering degree offers comprehensive knowledge to address evolving technological demands while maintaining flexibility for students to focus on at least one specialized area. Students build a foundation in mathematics and core engineering principles, coupled with essential instruction in electrical circuits, computer networking, electromagnetics, electronics, digital systems, communications, control systems, and power generation/conversion. Through advisor-guided elective choices, students can concentrate on the aforementioned fields, as well as robotics, microcircuits, microprocessors, and high-frequency electronics. Laboratory sessions integrated with electrical engineering courses form a crucial part of the program, providing practical application of theoretical concepts to real-world engineering challenges. Design engineering is a key curricular element that culminates in a substantial year-long senior design project.
