As an engineering design student, you'll address real-world design problems for actual clients starting in your first term. You'll engage in six distinct design studios by your junior year.
Engineering Design is ideally suited for the fast-evolving global employment landscape. You'll develop essential communication skills, a worldwide outlook, and a well-rounded engineering background, preparing you for a fulfilling career in any industry.
Key details:
You'll learn about system modeling, rapid prototyping, computer-aided design, machine shop methods, electrical circuits, and programming languages.
In your second year, you'll select a specialization area and understand how to integrate into ongoing projects while collaborating with advanced students.
During junior year, you'll complete four professional work placements without extending your graduation timeline. The third-year schedule also accommodates an international opportunity.
Strategic selection of humanities, social sciences, and arts electives can lead to minors in popular Rose-Hulman concentrations like art, psychology, or foreign languages.
In your final year, you'll finish your specialization and undertake a year-long, interdisciplinary capstone design project.
