Roosevelt University's Interdisciplinary Conservatory provides an accelerated Master of Arts in Theatre Directing, designed for dedicated theatre educators and emerging directors. Typically spanning three years, the program features three intensive summer sessions where students complete 30 credit hours of core coursework plus an additional 3-credit thesis/capstone project showcasing their directorial skills. The Fast-Track faculty comprises Interdisciplinary and Theatre Conservatory instructors alongside active Chicago theatre professionals. This program emphasizes hands-on directing experience complemented by specialized workshops and guest lectures. Admission is highly selective. A key feature of the Fast-Track program includes organized visits to Chicago theatres, where students analyze productions as part of their learning. When available, these outings also include discussions with the creative teams behind the performances.
