RIT's Bachelor of Science in Political Science combines government and international relations studies to develop ethical leaders and engaged citizens.
In this political science BS program, your foundational courses introduce core concepts before advancing to specialized electives in American politics and international/comparative government. The curriculum includes political science coursework from these key areas:
Statecraft, emerging democracies, and global governance
Democratic processes and federal government systems.
Students also select a concentration from:
Digital politics and organization: Examining technology's role in political systems and organizations.
Economics and Public Policy: Analyzing political systems through behavioral science, with focus on humanitarian issues and economic policy.
Political institutions: Exploring power dynamics and institutional evolution in our interconnected world.
Politics and life sciences: Investigating how modern biology and biotechnology shape political discourse and human identity. This unique program integrates both fields, offering rare opportunities to study biology and information technology alongside political science.
The program concludes with a capstone experience, synthesizing major themes through seminar discussions and a comprehensive research project.
