In a first-semester seminar, you will develop a comprehensive understanding of each engineering major, helping you select the program that fits your interests and career goals. You will have an entire academic year to decide on the best engineering career path for you while staying on track for timely graduation.

The engineering exploration option is designed for students who want more time to thoroughly investigate RIT's range of engineering majors before choosing a specific program. Students can select a major at any point during their first year.
