Engineering ranks among the largest professions in the United States, providing over one million positions across diverse sectors such as aircraft design and environmental management. The primary disciplines include civil, computer, electrical, and mechanical engineering. Every engineering field prioritizes problem-solving skills. Engineering curricula concentrate on imparting mathematical, scientific, and engineering fundamentals, applying them to devise innovative and efficient solutions to challenges.
Applicants should meet the following requirements: should be a graduate of a high school, 18 years of age or older and capable of profiting from the instruction offered, have an academic record or test scores which indicate a potential for success in a college credit program, a non-high school graduate, 16 or 17 years of age, who has passed the California High School Proficiency Examination or completed the G.E.D. examination series with an average of 450 or more on all tests and a score of at least 410 on each test. A minimum TOEFL score of 480 on paper based test, or 55 Internet based test, or 157 on computer based test is also required.
