Rivier University provides a Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) program focused on Middle/Secondary Mathematics, available through two distinct pathways: one designed for practicing educators and another for professionals transitioning into teaching careers. This program enables current teachers to refine their instructional expertise while preparing newcomers for mathematics certification in grades 5-12. For existing educators, the M.A. in Teaching Middle/Secondary Mathematics strengthens classroom abilities, enhances understanding of students, improves teaching methodologies, and expands mathematical knowledge. Aspiring teachers will broaden their grasp of social studies content while cultivating effective teaching techniques for academic environments. Through the M.A. in Teaching Middle/Secondary Mathematics program, participants will: Transform into skilled educators and communicators Bridge educational theory with practical classroom application Cultivate essential problem-solving and analytical abilities Master computational proficiency and mathematical reasoning
Applicants must have Official transcript(s) from Undergraduate study. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is expected for acceptance into our graduate programs.
Our minimum acceptable scores for standard English tests are TOEFL (61), IELTS (5.5), PTE (43).
